The self-editing check list has been helpful as well to my daughter to check herself with regards to her writing.

Always on the lookout for books to help my kids, who all appear to want to be world famous writers like their dad! This one helps break down one of the fundamental building blocks of good writing--the paragraph. Very detailed approach to understand different kinds of paragraphs for different kinds of writing. Seems to be especially helpful to my daughter who's in the fifth grade at the moment.
